Exotic lingerie should make you feel just as exotic and mysterious.

Exotic lingerie can mean two completely different things to two different people. To the tomboy who lives in sport bras and soccer shorts, exotic lingerie could be the simplest of ensembles from a lingerie shop. To the housewife who plays the act well but knows her stuff in the bedroom, exotic lingerie could be paint-on vinyl clothing that her husband gets to peel off later.

But the point of exotic lingerie is not to polarize different groups and make anyone feel less sexually aware than someone else. Exotic lingerie should be used to make you feel sexy, mysterious, and unlike yourself. It should help transport you and alleviate your inhibitions. While some pieces – usually thong underwear – can cause more problems than fun for new wearers, exotic lingerie typically just takes some getting used to.

Use your exotic lingerie purchase as an opportunity to experiment with not only new styles, but different colors and fabrics than what you’re used to wearing. Try it on a few times and move around before wearing it with that special someone. That’ll give you a chance to work out the kinks in your routine (and get used to that thong underwear creeping in your rear!) and help you feel more at ease when you do bring out your new exotic lingerie.

Build up a character. Imagine a woman who might wear the exotic lingerie regularly and try to embody her, how she might move, might talk, might touch. Step outside yourself and use your exotic lingerie as a ticket to an entirely new world and new way of doing things. Be brave and daring, or, if it suits the situation and your new lingerie, be quiet and reserved. You’ll probably never have this much fun in sport bras, so live it up!
