Maternity bras can make pregnancy easier to handle

Some newly pregnant women think that maternity bras are really just plus size bras with a different name. But women who’ve been through the drill before and know all of the needs of the changing body and physiology know that good maternity bras can help make pregnancy a breeze while ill-fitted or poorly made maternity bras can make those nine months seem like an eternity in prison. Like nursing bras, maternity bras have to fill a variety of requirements and purposes.

The fun in maternity bras begins around four months, when a woman’s body begins to start to focus on providing the breasts with the preparation they need to be food factories after the baby is born. Many women notice that their cups are overflowing and set out to buy plus size bras to replace their normal ones. This isn’t nearly as effective as getting suitable maternity bras, since maternity bras are specially designed with the pregnant body as the focal point. Normal plus size bras often end up needing multiple strap adjustments throughout the day, and who wants to be doing that with a belly the size of a globe?

Like nursing bras, maternity bras contain tons of extra support to keep pregnant breasts from beginning to sag and to help prevent stretch marks. What can discourage women is the higher price tag on maternity bras, but you’ll see the benefit of this when you realize how much more comfortable they are than plus size bras. However, many new mom will have to go back to the store for extra maternity bras when they go from trimester to trimester. This can add up, but it’s worth it in comfort. And if you properly care for your maternity bras and nursing bras, they can last you throughout your pregnancy and beyond, which means the cost doesn’t have quite the negative effect.
