Push up bras can give you the same oomph and pick up as shelf bras without quite as much of a risqué angle. With a similar cleavage-enhancing design and fabric, push up bras lift and separate the breasts to create the perfect silhouette and front view of the chest. Unlike shelf bras, which push both breasts together, push up bras encourage separation into different cups.

While not as risqué as shelf bras, push up bras are one of the more risqué pieces of common ladies underwear. While shelf bras have a support system stemming from a single band of elastic or spandex running beneath both cups, push up bras have a support system of elastic or spandex in each individual cup. This gives each breast its own lift and perkiness rather than squishing them together. Also, while shelf bras stop short of covering the entire breast and allow most of it to spill out and over the top of the cups, push up bras provide full coverage and can be worn without fear of spilling out in just about any situation. Push up bras are widely used just to accentuate a woman’s silhouette regardless of setting. They’re a vital piece of ladies underwear, and every woman should own at least one.
